Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story, a new prequel series from Bridgerton, will be available on Netflix in 2023.
The classic original series character Queen Charlotte will be explored in the next season.
What's on Netflix claims that Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story, a precursor to Bridgerton, will only have one season.
The prequel series will travel in time to examine Queen Charlotte, a well-known figure in Bridgerton, and how she came to be the legendary figure that she is today.
"Many fans had never heard of Queen Charlotte's narrative before Bridgerton brought her to the world," said Bela Bajaria, head of worldwide TV at Netflix, "and I'm glad this new series will further broaden her story and the world of Bridgerton."
According to the source, Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story is slated to premiere on Netflix on May 4, 2023, but this date has not yet been verified.
The show's primary author, Shonda Rhimes, is also the show's producer, along with Betsy Beers and Tom Verica.
In addition to the impending spinoff series and the fourth season renewal of the original series, other projects are in the works as a result of an expanded partnership with Netflix.
These previously teased ideas include video games, other live events, and virtual reality experiences.
