Black Sherif consistently took home a few coveted prizes at the event, which was held at the Lincoln Theater on Columbus, Ohio's 769 E. Long Street.
To win the prize, Kofi Kinaata bested Black Sherif, KiDi, Kuami Eugene, Sarkodie, Stonebwoy, and Diana Hamilton.
Afrobeat/Afropop Artiste of the Year, New Artist of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year, and Sound Engineer/Producer of the Year went to Akwaboah, Balck Sherif, KiDi, and Kuamai Eugene, respectively.
