Curtis Jackson, better known as 50 Cent, is an American actor, rapper, producer, and entrepreneur. He is mainly known for his music, but he has also acted in films such as "Get Rich or Die Trying" and "Home of the Brave."
He has invested in technology, gaming, and beverages in addition to his entertainment career.
He's also had a hand in a number of commercial initiatives, including Vitamin Water, which was sold to Coca-Cola for $4.1 billion. With everything going on in his life, one would assume that the last thing 50 Cent would want to do is purposefully drop weight for a movie role.
But that's exactly what he did in 2011 when he shed 54 pounds (25 kg) for the role of a cancer sufferer in the film "Things Fall Apart."
While there are numerous strategies for people to lose weight on purpose, such as moving more or eating a healthier diet, Even by Hollywood standards, 50 Cent's method was extreme: he went nine weeks without eating anything but liquid meals! From October to December 2010, he lived solely on two cans of Ensure and water every day.
50 Cent appeared to be alarmingly emaciated, as if he hadn't eaten in years. While 50 Cent was praised for his willingness to lose 54 pounds of muscular bulk for the film, he was also chastised by fans who thought he went too far. The rapper, on the other hand, seemed unconcerned about any negative feedback or health concerns.
