Former President John Dramani Mahama has put forward for consideration ways to attract further youthful people into husbandry.
In his message to mark the Growers’Day festivity on Friday December 3, he called on stakeholders to diversify by probing intoagro-processing and agri- business as ways of icing value addition and wealth creation for all persons in the husbandry value chain.
This wealth, he said, must particularly profit growers and fishermen, and also the country.
“ This way, we can get further youthful people into husbandry to employ further of Ghana’s youth and increase our food stock,” he said.

Heartiest congratulations to our growers and fishermen on the occasion of this time’s National Farmers Day. You remain our heroines and icons.
Through your trouble, Agriculture continues to be the dependence of our frugality, employing utmost of our nation’s working population and being a leading contributor to GDP.
Not only do you give our nation’s food and nutrition requirements, you also apply the eventuality to annihilate hunger and poverty and lead our country toward rapid-fire industrialization and participated substance through agribusiness.
As we commemorate this important day, we must diversify by probing intoagro-processing and agri- business as ways of icing value addition and wealth creation for all persons in the husbandry value chain.
This wealth must particularly profit our growers and fishermen, and also the country.
This way, we can get further youthful people into husbandry to employ further of Ghana’s youth and increase our food stock.
We'll also earn foreign exchange through exports and, eventually increase the income situations of our hardworking growers and fishermen.
Our world is fast changing, and we must find new ways of doing business, if we're to survive.
I believe once government averts its mind to the openings and relative advantage we've as a country, we can achieve the thing of substance for our country and its people.
